The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) recently announced that Krone North America has won multiple AE50 awards.
Krone North America developed the BiG Pack 1290 HDP II large square baler, SmartCut Cutterbar and BiG X iGreen System, deemed as a few of the year's most innovative designs in engineering products or systems for the food and agriculture industries. These products will be featured in the January/February 2014 special AE50 issue of ASABE's magazine Resource: Engineering & Technology for a Sustainable World.
"Krone has numerous engineers that have devoted many years to developing and testing products and systems to maximize equipment efficiency and produce technology to ease the operator's workload. We are honored to be recognized for our contributions to the agricultural industry," says Kristine Walker, Krone North America Marketing Manager. Krone contributions that received the AE50 award include the BiG Pack 1290 HDP II. This baler demonstrates the greatest capacity of any large square baler on the market. The SmartCut Cutterbar is recognized for providing the cleanest cuts in all conditions, including light crops. The BiG X iGreen System is acknowledged for containing field navigation software, among other technology, to accurately record field location and harvesting data.
Companies from around the world submit entries to the annual AE50 competition and up to 50 of the best products are chosen by a panel of international engineering experts. The judges select products that will best advance engineering for the food and agriculture industries.
The AE50 awards program is sponsored by Resource to emphasize the role of new products and systems in bringing advanced technology to the marketplace. These engineering developments help farmers, food processors and equipment manufacturers cut costs, enhance quality and increase profits.
