AgVentures! Day Set for May 23rd at International Agri-Center

The International Agri-Center is hosting its second annual AgVentures! Day for 4th grade students to explore farming, food and fun on Friday, May 23rd, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Tulare. Students will see a sheep dog demonstration, sample different fruits and vegetables and hear from agricultural professionals in the community.

The event will educate more than 1,500 students from Tulare and Visalia schools about our abundant agricultural industry. AgVentures! Day will also help students make healthy food choices and teach them about how their food is produced in Tulare County. During AgVentures! Day, the International Agri-Center, with support from the Tulare County Farm Bureau and UC Cooperative Extension, will focus on educating 4th graders about the importance of good nutrition and the role of agriculture in their lives. Students and teachers will be able to meet one-on-one with farmers, ranchers and other agricultural industry representatives. Hands-on activities, presentations and demonstrations will take place throughout the day.

AgVentures Day! is not open to the public. We invite media to join us.
