Automatic Remediation Program: Second Patent Recently Awarded for SISTEM® Learning Technology

Alchemy Systems Alchemy Systems, LP, the global leader in food and workplace safety training for production workers, has been recently awarded a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for its proprietary software for group training. It is the second patent awarded in the last two years for Alchemy's "Multimedia Training System and Apparatus."

These two patents verify the uniqueness of Alchemy's training process and instruction. The most recent patent covers Alchemy's integrated platform approach to training. Integrated components include online and offline group based training, audience response, e-learning and a cloud-based management system. A critical aspect of the overall process is automatic remediation of key concepts in a group setting based on a pre-determined success threshold. The program assures full comprehension for all group training participants with follow-up remediation when necessary.

"Before development of this platform, remediation for workers who answered questions incorrectly was an inconsistent manual process, which could pose problems for food and workplace safety," said Archie Barrett, Alchemy chief technology officer. "Instead, our automatic remediation dramatically raises the percentage of people who answer a question correctly for each concept, and enables the instructor to immediately initiate remediation questioning when needed."

Barrett said customers have reported outstanding results with this new approach.

Alchemy's training platform has always emphasized the importance of remediation, not only to establish thorough comprehension of day-to-day work, but also to comply with federal and state regulations. "Leading companies in the food industry recognize the importance of verifying that employees understand all concepts in critical training such as food safety and workplace safety. A score of 90 percent is not acceptable when the missed concept results in an accident or contamination. The SISTEM platform provides a way to efficiently and effectively drive to 100 percent comprehension of learning objectives using our patented process," Barrett said.

"The U.S. patent confirms the uniqueness of our training solution," said Jeff Eastman, Alchemy chief executive officer. "Our technological expertise gives our customers confidence that their workforce will have the knowledge necessary to create a food safety culture in the workplace."

Alchemy provides SISTEM training in more than 1,400 locations worldwide. Millions of manufacturing employees have been trained on the SISTEM platform over the last 10 years.
