Kevin JorgensenSelect Sires Inc. has added Kevin Jorgensen to the Holstein sire team. Jorgensen will be responsible for Holstein sire acquisition in Wisconsin and other states and will assist Selects' member cooperatives in their efforts to grow semen sales. He will be based from his home in Waupun, Wis.

Jorgensen is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received a bachelor's degree in dairy science. He holds a master's degree from Marian College in organizational leadership and quality. Jorgensen has a 21-year history in the A.I. industry and has spent the last 15 with East Central/Select Sires. In his most recent position as director of dairy programs, he managed Select Mating Service™ (SMS™) evaluator staff, evaluated cows in southeastern Wisconsin, provided reproductive troubleshooting as part of the Select Reproductive Solutions™ (SRS™) team and coordinated and hosted international tour groups. He currently serves on the Wisconsin Holstein Association board of directors and owns a select group of registered Holsteins.

"Through Kevin's roles as East Central's dairy program specialist and SMS evaluator, and later in his current role as director of dairy programs, Kevin has experience in every aspect of our business," says Charlie Will, manager of Selects' Holstein sire program. "His knowledge of pedigrees, cow families and sire lines goes back for many generations. Kevin has judged shows and worked sales in many states in the U.S. and has represented World Wide Sires (WWS) in seven countries around the world from Germany to Japan to Australia. He is known by many people around the world, as Kevin has organized and hosted tours for as many WWS international tour groups as anyone in the U.S."
