Zach MyersNorth Carolina dairy producers Eugene Blackwell and Zach Myers spoke to attendees at the annual Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassador Summit in Charlotte, N.C., July 9-12. The summit brought together student leaders and program advisors who are committed to improving their school and community by eating smart and staying active through the checkoff-created Fuel Up to Play 60 program. The summit armed 67 student ambassadors and 50 program advisors with leadership skills and resources to bring Fuel Up to Play 60 to life and enact healthy changes – including increased consumption of healthy foods such as dairy – for the upcoming school year. Blackwell provided opening comments and emphasized the importance of the program to help assure a healthier future for children. Myers, who serves on the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board, encouraged the ambassadors to find their passion in life and to use that Eugene Blackwellpassion to drive change through Fuel Up to Play 60. Dairy Management Inc. and the Southeast United Dairy Industry Association (SUDIA) worked with the NFL's Carolina Panthers to host the event at their facilities.
