Select Sires' High-Components Lineup Sired Outstanding Fall Show Winners


The Select Sires lineup sired some of the most exciting individuals, in every breed, this fall at the All-American Dairy Show in Harrisburg, Pa., World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wis., North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE) in Louisville, Ky., and the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair (RAWF) in Toronto, Canada.

Showcase Selections™ sires had a fabulous show season, and so did tanbark legends like 7JE590 Forest Glen Avery ACTION-ET, 7GU402 Edgewater Meadows YOGIBEAR-ET and 7MS340 Kuszmar Alfairs OTHELLO.

GOVERNOR, TBONE sire class winners
At the All-American Dairy Show, 7JE1000 Richies Jace TBONE A364 daughter, Lyon Tbone Apple, owned by Todd Stiles, Clear Brook, Va., won the senior two-year-old class and was named reserve intermediate champion. Also, two 7JE867 Griffens GOVERNOR-ET daughters won their classes: junior two-year-old Tower Vue Kookies Krunch-ET (VG-88%), exhibited by Craig Walton, Pleasant Plain, Ohio, and now owned by Junior Rader, Pleasant Plain, Ohio and junior three-year-old South Haven Gov Rose (E-90%) exhibited by Mackenzie Poole, Westminster, Md.

GOVERNOR also sired several elite cows in the International Jersey Show at World Dairy Expo. In the junior two-year-old class, the third place cow, Payneside GG Got Milk (VG-88%), exhibited by Nic, Jeni, Ben and Andy Sauder, Tremont, Ill., was sired by GOVERNOR. Another daughter, BJ Governor Monopoly-ET (VG-89%) owned by Shawn and Seth Nehls, Hustisford, Wis. was the first place junior entry in the junior three-year-old class.

JAVA has great day at World Dairy Expo
In the Brown Swiss show 7BS901 Mort Blessing Dynsty JAVA (M) "E90", sired two of the top five fall calves, including the winning calf and honorable mention junior champion, Blessing Java Mindy, exhibited by Caid Blessing, Fort Wayne, Ind. 7BS900 Blessing Tex BRAIDEN ET "E92" also sired several high-placing animals throughout the year.

BURDETTE continues to sire the best
7AY84 Palmyra Tri-Star BURDETTE-ET had another stellar show season, including several championships, that was capped off by earning the coveted Premier Sire of the heifer show at RAWF. At World Dairy Expo, Four-Hills Burdette Alex 3908, exhibited by Britney Hill, Bristol, Vt., won the spring calf class and was named first junior in the class. Another daughter was the International Futurity winner and second place junior three-year-old, Grand-View Burdette Diamond (EX-91), owned by Tim Busch and Hope and Meadow Hahn, Cecil, Wis. Also at Madison, the second place summer yearling and first junior entry was a BURDETTE daughter, Palmyra Ragimore-EV B Gigi, exhibited by Palmyra, E. Els, Ragimore Trust and B. Volschenk, Hagerstown, Md. During the RAWF Ayrshire show, Bavaroise Burdette Rihanna exhibited by Martin Poirier, Ste-Elizabeth, Quebec was the first spring calf while the reserve junior champion and winning fall calf was Rosayre Burdette's Kermit owned by Ken and Shirley Rose, Mountain, Ontario.

At the All-American Dairy Show, Spring-Vale Burdt Applefritter exhibited by Jeffrey Hubbard, Thurmont, Md. was the winning senior two-year-old and named intermediate and grand champion of the junior show. Applefritter also won her class and was named intermediate champion of the junior show at NAILE and was the second place senior two-year-old and Total Performance Cow in the open show. Gill Farm Burdette Diane owned by Megan Raber of Creston, Ohio was the first spring calf and reserve junior champion of the junior show at NAILE while Van-De Burdette's Simone Smokey exhibited by Stacey Coleman of Smyrna, Tenn. was the first fall calf in the junior show. At the All-American Dairy Show, Cedarcut Burdette Clove Colata, exhibited by Erin Curtis Szalach of Cazenovia, N.Y., was the winning winter calf.

Milking Shorthorn sires continue domination
7MS347 Mysha-WO Advent LIRIANO-ET and 7MS349 Mysha-WO Robin NITRO EXP dominated the heifer show at World Dairy Expo. LIRIANO sired the junior champion and first place fall yearling, Kellogg Bay Liriano Nettie, exhibited by Ashlynn Foster, Middlebury, Vt. Nettie also won her class in both the open and junior shows and was named reserve junior champion of the junior show at the All-American Dairy Show. NITRO daughter Eichlers RN Blessing Breakfast, owned by Mike and Jill Eichler of Oak Park, Minn., won the winter yearling class and was named reserve junior champion. Buckeye Knoll Nitro Pizazz EXP, a NITRO daughter, exhibited by Hannah Rhoades, Greenville, Ohio, was the first spring calf at NAILE in both the open and junior shows.

Another LIRIANO daughter, Buckeye Knoll Plmazing EXP-ET, exhibited by Sarah Rhoades of Greenville, Ohio was the first place winter calf at World Dairy Expo. Plmazing was also named reserve junior champion of the junior show and at the Winter National Junior Milking Shorthorn Show she was the winning winter calf and junior champion of the junior show. Woodsey-Dell Lran Roselin EXP, exhibited by Douglas Brooks, Hop Bottom, Pa., and sired by LIRIANO topped the junior two-year-old class in the junior show at NAILE.

At the International Milking Shorthorn Show at World Dairy Expo, the dam of Super Sampler™ 7MS353 Springville Logic PREMIUM-ET, Tex-Star Othello Peri (EX-94-EX-MS), exhibited by Springville Farm of Emory, Texas, was the second place aged cow and the Nasco International Type and Production Award winner.

For an astounding tenth year in a row, 7MS340 Kuszmar Alfairs OTHELLO was named Premier Sire of the International Milking Shorthorn show.

JACKPOT delivers
7GU437 Springhill JACKPOT-ET daughter Hearts Desire Jackpot Sweet, exhibited by Marshall Overholt of Big Prairie, Ohio, was the first place fall calf at the All-American Dairy Show in both the open and junior shows and earned junior champion honors in the junior show and reserve in the open show. She was also the second place fall calf in the Guernsey show at World Dairy Expo and won her class in the junior show at NAILE. Another JACKPOT daughter, Eternal Flame Mocha exhibited by Nathan Pieper, Walton, N.Y., was the first place summer yearling at the All-American Dairy Show.
