Select Sires' Professional Technicians Receive Advanced Training



Select Sires logoTen professional technicians from across the U.S. participated in the annual Technician Conference at Select Sires' headquarters in Plain City, Ohio. Employees from five member cooperatives were present for the two-day event, where they received advanced education in reproduction and service to better serve Select Sires' customer-owners.

"Select Sires is committed to offering the best reproductive service team in the industry, and that begins with our technicians," stated Dr. Ray Nebel, vice president of technical service programs. "These technicians are part of the largest field service team in the industry and work hard every day to create pregnancies. This conference is an excellent time to provide them with advanced training and give them the opportunity to share ideas with their colleagues."

The participants received in-depth information about estrus synchronization, factors affecting conception, heat detection, Select RePRO Analysis™, fertility research, dairy sire programs, reproductive troubleshooting, Select Sires' gender SELECTed™ process, Select Detect™ and Heatime®, the two most technologically advanced activity and health monitoring systems available today.

Technician training participants included: All West/Select Sires-Harry Anderson, Modesto, Calif. and Randy Van Wieringen, Sunnyside, Wash.; East Central/Select Sires-Jeremy Konen, Mazomanie, Wis. and Shannon Sauer, Waterloo, Wis.; NorthStar Cooperative-Tyler Freund, Arpin, Wis., Garret Carnahan, Hilbert, Wis., Jared Krull, Shawano, Wis. and Chris McTaggart, Sterling, Mich.; Prairie State/Select Sires-Kyle Peters, Sioux Center, Iowa and Select Sires MidAmerica-Donald Mininger, Glasgow, Ky.
