VITA PLUSMichelle Windle was recently named a Vita Plus forage products and dairy technical service specialist. Based in Madison, Wisconsin, Windle will lead efforts in research and development of new forage and dairy feed products. She will work closely with Vita Plus and dealer consultants to apply the latest research to help customers be more profitable on their dairies. Windle will also help customers and staff troubleshoot on-farm challenges and customize solutions to meet their objectives.

Michelle Windle Windle attended the University of Delaware, where she earned her bachelor's degree in animal science in 2007 and her master's degree in dairy nutrition and silage fermentation in 2010. She completed her Ph.D. in the same field this year. Working with Dr. Limin Kung Jr., a leading forage expert at the University of Delaware, Windle's research focused on the use of silage additives to improve rumen fermentation of corn silage and high moisture corn. She also coordinated and conducted field studies in the Midwest and California to assess live counts of lactic acid bacteria in liquid microbial inoculant tanks for silages. Windle's research has been published in the Journal of Dairy Science and Journal of Animal Science and she has presented numerous research projects for the American Dairy Science Association.
