Double S Announces Greg Shepard as President and CEO
Double S Liquid Feed Services, a leading manufacturer and supplier of cane molasses, vegetable oils, beet molasses, fish oil and mineral oil products, is pleased to announce that Greg Shepard has been named President and Chief Executive Officer.
Shepard, along with his parents Don and Evelyn Shepard, founded Double S in July 1987, in Danville, Illinois. To form the company, the family combined 50 years of liquid feeds experience with hard-work ethics, honesty and respect, and a promise to exceed expectations. Shepard, who recently retained full interest in the company, now continues the family legacy at Double S, following his father as President and CEO.
Shepard has devoted his professional career to Double S, serving most recently as Vice President. In that role, he focused on formulation, transportation, packaging, manufacturing and regulatory issues. Still a champion of those efforts, Shepard will now transition the company and focus aggresively on growing the business. "We recently strengthened our infrastructure and made significant investments in new equipment and property," says Shepard. "Our vision for the next several years is to continue to grow the company's product and service offerings and expand its geographic footprint."
While the goal is to expand, Shepard has no intention of shifting away from what got the company to where it is today: quality products and service, manufacturing expertise, knowledge of animals and animal nutrition, and highly capable people. "Essential to the success of the organization, Double S employees work hard, believe in the company's goals, utilize common sense, and truly understand animal agriculture," states Shepard. "Double S also will continue to hand select, screen and thoroughly test all ingredients to confirm product quality. Unlike our competitors, Double S maintains separate ingredient storage areas and lines, plus designated pumps and tanks to make sure products never commingle. This ensures our customers are getting the most consistent, highest quality mix."
In his new position as President and CEO, Shepard was nominated to serve on the Liquid Feed Committee for the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA). His duties began at the Liquid Feed Symposium held September 10-12. "I'm honored and excited to represent the interests of liquid feed manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors," says Shepard. "Double S is a proud and active member of AFIA."
