Milk is Nature's Sports Drink for the 2014 Barker Varsity Boy's Basketball Team
The Barker Varsity Boy's Basketball team in Niagara County, are the 2014 Niagara-Orleans League Champions with an undefeated 14-0 season. The team is coached by Dave Carson, the Barker Athletic Director, and assisted by Shane Phillips. Members of the team are holding Upstate Niagara chocolate milk containers. Christopher Sweeney, (5th from the right) is the son of John Sweeney and nephew of Art Sweeney from Maple View Dairy in Appleton, NY.Christopher is also a Dairy Dude with Niagara-Orleans Counties and educates the public about the consumption of dairy products.
The parents of the teammates said the boys refuel with "gallons of milk" to be on top of their games which is evident as league champions. This is the first time in the history of the school that a Boy's Basketball team has been undefeated in league play.
