There is no doubt that the 50th World Dairy Expo will be a memorable show with special events held throughout the week of October 4 to 8, 2016, in Madison, Wis.

During the CIGAL Dairy Trade Show in Jalisco, Mexico, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Ben Brancel, secretary of Wisconsin's Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection both shared in the excitement of the upcoming show as highlighted in the two-minute composite video.

As documented in the recently released book We Need A Show about the 50th anniversary of World Dairy Expo, many organizations, including the state of Wisconsin, were instrumental in getting the show off the ground. Most recently, state support came in the form of the New Holland Pavilions. Both Governor Walker and Secretary Brancel played pivotal roles in getting those state-of-the-art facilities off the drawing board.

Last year's international dairy extravaganza drew attendees from 95 countries and exhibitors from 26 nations.

As part of this year's CIGAL Dairy Trade Show, ABS Global, Hoard's Dairyman, and Hoard's Dairyman en español sponsored a drawing for airfare to the 50th World Dairy Expo.

This Hoard's Dairyman Intel article is the final report in a series that highlighted a Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer (DATCP) trade mission to Jalisco, Mexico. That trade mission coincided with the CIGAL Dairy Trade Show held June 13 to 17, 2016. In all, 11 companies, two educational institutions, two Wisconsin state agencies, and one publication attended the event, along with Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and DATCP Secretary of Agriculture Ben Brancel.
