Boehringer Ingelheim VetmedicaBoehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. (BIVI), a global leader in the animal health industry, today announced the hiring of Curt Vlietstra, DVM as a professional services veterinarian with its cattle team.


Vlietstra comes to BIVI from Pipestone Veterinary Services in Pipestone, Minn., a practice for both large and companion animals, where he was an owner and veterinarian for the past 13 years. In his new role, Vlietstra will be responsible for serving customers in parts of Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.

"Dr. Vlietstra brings valuable experience as a practicing veterinarian," said Craig Jones, DVM, director, cattle professional veterinary services at BIVI. "His background will allow him to best serve and provide solutions to our customers because he understands firsthand the challenges they face every day."

Vlietstra is a graduate of the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and obtained his undergraduate degree from South Dakota State University. He and his wife, Jen, and their three children, Jake, Cade and Bryce, currently live in Edgerton, Minn. They plan to relocate to Wisconsin in the spring of 2017.
