Registration is open for the 2nd Dairy Cattle Welfare Symposium, set for June 1-3, 2017 at The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

This event will bring dairy farmers, veterinarians, consultants, universities, and the dairy community to discuss best recommended practices with focus on animal well-being, management, husbandry, animal-people interaction, health, and productivity.

The Dairy Cattle Welfare Council (DCWC), a developing organization formed in 2016, is hosting the event.

Approximately 180 people participated in the 2016 symposium and the DCWC hopes to increase participation with expanded spots available for 2017.

The roster of speakers includes dairymen and other professionals who will discuss various welfare challenges in dairy operations.

The program also will include short oral presentations on dairy welfare-related research by students from universities across the country.

Registration, which includes breakfasts and lunches, is $250 until April 30th and $300 afterward. Student registration is $75 and is limited to 30 people. Total registration for the event is limited to 350.
