Getting too low of SCC in the tank is only a look at the entire herd, in response to the item “Can SCCs go too low?”

Of great importance is driving down the new mastitis infection rate per month. This is a first line barometer of your cow care and milking process. Maybe a look at the average of SCC for those cows under 200,000 somatic cells per milliliter would be a good statistic to know if in fact we need enough cells present in an individual cow to mount an attack against an infection.
