In a recent study at the University of Georgia, of high producing cows fed with MetaboLys® BY-PASS LYSINE added to the diets showed an increase of 3.13 kg of milk per cow, per day at 25.43 kg DMI.

H.J. Baker & Bro., Inc. today released results of a 30 cow University of Georgia trial that showed MetaboLys® BY-PASS LYSINE is digestible in the small intestine, but resists degradation by ruminal microorganisms. The result is a 3.13 kg increase in milk production per day per cow. Dr. John K. Bernard, Ph.D., Dipl. ACAN of the Animal & Dairy Science Department at the University of Georgia stated: "Results of the trial show approximately 89% of MetaboLys® BY-PASS LYSINE was undegraded after 16 hours of ruminal exposureand approximately 80% was digested in the small intestine. Therefore the metabolizable lysine content of MetaboLys® BY-PASS LYSINE is 70.55%." Danny Wright, MS, PAS of H.J. Baker commented: "We know an effective by-pass lysine supplement, one that will potentially support milk synthesis, must be digestible in the small intestine but resistant to ruminal degradation. When we introduced MetaboLys® BY-PASS LYSINE at the American Dairy Science Association meeting in New Orleans in July, we stated it was designed to increase milk production, improve milk components and allow you to formulate to reduce ration costs and boost feed efficiency. In addition, we also discussed the patent pending advanced coating technology, which makes the product unique to the market. Now with these results we can clearly see the product is performing as designed." Wright concluded: "H.J. Baker has a long standing commitment to the dairy industry with our product, PRO-LAK® Dairy By-Pass Protein. We have worked hard to build a reputation for providing high quality, reliable products and it will be no different for our newest addition, MetaboLys® BY-PASS LYSINE®." About MetaboLys® BY-PASS LYSINE: MetaboLys® BY-PASS LYSINE is a patent-pending rumen protected lysine that provides lipid coated Lysine Sulphate protection in the rumen, while allowing for digestion in the intestine in lactating cows. Initial research conducted by the University of Georgia determined that MetaboLys® BY-PASS LYSINE improves lactation and efficiency, improves protein nutrition and improves production response. Ongoing university testing and field trials will continue with lactating and cannulated cows for ruminal and duodenal digestibility. A stringent quality control program tests every batch for rumen by-pass value, continuing H.J. Baker's commitment to its products and their quality. About H.J. Baker: H.J.
