In the high-components breeds, Showcase Selections sires 7JE867 Griffens GOVERNOR-ET, 7BS766 Blessing Banker AGENDA ET, 7AY84 Palmyra Tri-Star BURDETTE-ET, 7GU402 Edgewater Meadows YOGIBEAR-ET and Super Sampler™ 7MS349 Mysha-Wo Robin NITRO EXP sired first place finishes.
At the Eastern Fall National Holstein Show held during the All-American Dairy Show in Harrisburg, Pa., the junior champion and reserve junior champion were both sired by stud code 7 bulls. SANCHEZ sired the winning winter heifer calf, M-Signature Sanchez Siri, owned by Bailee, Calla, Mason and Matthew Mazzaro of Williamsfield, Ohio. Siri was later named junior champion of the show. G W ATWOOD sired the winning summer yearling and reserve junior champion, Kingsway Atwood Delicate, owned by Iager/Ehrhardt of Fulton, Md. In the Premier National Junior Show, also held in Harrisburg, Pa., the grand champion Holstein, Linden-Loch Damion Delila (EX-90), owned by Douglas Boop of Millmont, Pa., and sired by DAMION, was named supreme champion of the junior show at the 2011 Parade of Champions.
The highlights of the International Holstein Show and International Junior Holstein Show held at World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wis., included four champion honors. During the open show, DAMION daughter Silvermaple Damion Camomile (VG-88-VG-MS) was named intermediate champion and reserve grand champion. The first place junior 3-year-old is owned by Stanhope Dairy Farm LLC, Ben and Suzanne Cuthbert and Wedgewood Holsteins of Victoria, B.C. Reserve junior champion honors were awarded to the first place fall heifer calf, Delcreek Fatal Attraction, a DUSK daughter. She is owned by J. Butler, F. and D. Borba and Durrer Dairy of Chebanse, Ill. In the International Junior Holstein Show, the intermediate and reserve intermediate champions were both Select-sired. A SANCHEZ daughter, Siemers Sz Hia-Mae, was awarded the first place milking fall yearling and then named the intermediate champion. She is owned by Jacob Dueppengiesser of Perry, N.Y. The reserve intermediate champion was the first place junior 2-year-old, Fischerdale Damion Reality. The DAMION daughter is owned by Elizabeth Sarbacker of Verona, Wis.
In the Jersey spotlight was GOVERNOR daughter Sunset Canyon Governor Fp Belle. Belle was named the junior champion of the junior show at the Central National Jersey Show held in Wisconsin and at the All American Jersey Show held in Kentucky. The summer yearling heifer is owned by Valery Silva, Beaver, Ore.
In the Brown Swiss show at World Dairy Expo, AGENDA daughter Just So Agenda Chorus was named the reserve junior champion of the open show and junior champion of the junior show. She was the first place fall yearling heifer and is owned by Otis Johnson, Evansville, Wis.
