Mathers Joins All West Select Sires Team
All West Select Sires is pleased to announce that Peter Mathers of Lacombe, Alberta, has joined the sales team. Peter will be handling the Select Sires lineup in central Alberta, including breed leading Holstein and Jersey sires, as well as a full range of beef semen. He will also be working with the SMS mating program. Peter joins the All West Select Sires team with over 15 years of experience in the dairy industry. He has worked as a herdsman at such notable dairies as Nielsen Farms and Rocky Mountain Holsteins in Alberta and Avonlea Holsteins, Rowlands Dairy and Mathers Family PTY Ltd in Australia. The native Australian was also a graduate of BRIT, the Bendigo Regional Institute of Tafe, earning a 3-year diploma in Farm Trades.
"From milking, feeding and staff training to showing and herd health, I've been involved in all aspects of the dairy industry and am certainly not afraid to roll up my sleeves and get the job done," said Mathers.
This "can do" attitude was what made Mathers a natural fit for the All West Select Sires team, according to Karl Krangnes, Area Manager. "Peter has worked with some of the industry's most elite animals, and also had great, practical experience in managing a dairy and working with employees. His passion for breeding the next great generation of profitable cattle is a great asset to the team."
