Kelly (Sheehan) Kendall
I've always been an ag girl at heart. From growing up on my family's dairy farm, Sheeknoll Farms in Rochester, Minn., to graduating from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with a degree in agricultural marketing, I always knew I wanted to work in the agriculture industry.
Currently, I am the marketing specialist at Badgerland Financial's corporate office in Prairie du Sac, Wis. My main responsibilities include coordinating the day-to-day advertising and marketing needs of Badgerland Financial, a member of the Farm Credit system. Whether it's designing flyers or creating online, radio, print and TV advertising, my job is to promote the Badgerland Financial brand to both the agricultural community and the general public. I love using my design and photography skills daily, and I'm proud to work for an agricultural cooperative.

Prior to joining Badgerland Financial in November 2011, I was the dairy advertising coordinator at Accelerated Genetics in Baraboo, Wis. Designing dairy print ads, creating the dairy sire directories and managing the dairy advertising portion of the company made up a large portion of my job responsibilities.

In the future, my husband, Dan, and I would love to purchase our own farmland and raise crops. Both of us grew up on farms, and we'd love to share that experience with our son, Connor, and our second child, who is due at the end of July (2013).

Interning at Hoard's Dairyman was a great experience! It was a thrill to work for Hoard's Dairyman, an iconic magazine that has been a staple in the dairy industry for decades. I've always enjoyed telling people's stories, so writing for Hoard's was a perfect opportunity for me. It helped me realize that my future plans of a career in agricultural communications was a great fit. Working with Steve Larson, Corey Geiger and the rest of the Hoard's staff was a wonderful learning experience.

Overall, it was a great experience, and I'm fortunate to say that I and my stories are part of Hoard's Dairyman's history.
