I am currently a student at South Dakota State University double majoring in dairy production and ag communications and minoring in animal science and advertising. This summer, I am working as a marketing and communications intern with Accelerated Genetics.
Applying for the Hoard's Dairyman internship is the best decision I have made in my college career so far. I advanced professionally by growing my knowledge of the industry, improving my writing ability and interacting with others in the industry. After my internship, I decided to pursue a second major in dairy production to satisfy my still growing interest in dairy science. During the internship, I especially enjoyed the opportunity to interview dairy producers and learn about their operations at the 14 different farms that I visited throughout Kansas and Michigan. This experience solidified my career goal to work in communications in the dairy industry.
