Filament Marketing, LLC announces the hiring of Jennifer Ray as a marketing communications summer intern. Over the course of this internship, Ray will employ her research, writing, editing and project coordination skills to assist the company and its clients with a variety of communication initiatives.A native of Atwater, Calif., Ray completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Communications from California Polytechnic State University this past June. Ray will begin the Agricultural Education and Communication Master of Science program at Kansas State University in August.
Ray's previous experience includes serving as editor-in-chief for Cal Poly's Ag Circle magazine. Ray organized and led the student-run publication, where she practiced writing, editing and design skills. Ray also brings research experience from her previous position as the assistant to the agriculture and life sciences librarian at the Cal Poly library.
Ray serves as the second vice president for the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT) organization. Ray's passion for agriculture was inspired by her grandfather, who was a dairy farmer in Salinas, Calif. After completing her master's degree, Jennifer plans to work in the agricultural marketing and public relations field and may one day return to the university setting to teach agricultural communications.
