In fact, it's the same tree ... an Apple tree!

Grand Champion Red & White Show


It was certainly a unique occurance in the International Red & White Show at World Dairy Expo. First, a genetic clone won, KHW Regiment Apple 3-Red-ETN! Second, Reserve went to the donor – the original fruit, Apple-Red-ET. And, Honorable Mention Grand Champion to Apple-Red's Talent daughter, Candy Apple-Red, the winning 5-year-old and Best Udder of Show. Finally, Apple-Red's brother, Advent-Red was named Premier Sire. This Apple tree bears beautiful red fruit!

Junior Champion of the Open Show went to Hanalee G Busty Babe, owned by Hank and Nancy-Lee Hazeleger and Marty Hazeleger of Canada. Sejane Camden Vania-Red, owned by Sejane Holstein and Selexie Holstein of Canada, was Reserve.

Intermediate Champion of the Open Show was Charpentire Destry Sidney-Red, owned by Kevin Ehrhardt and Gene Iager of Maryland. Lookout Elmbridge Lady Rouge, owned by Lookout Holsteins, Elmbridge, Frank and Diane Borba, Pat Conroy and George Morasci, was Reserve.

Grand Champion Red & White Show

Apple 3 was the winning 4-year-old and was the Senior Champion for Westcoast Holsteins of British Columbia. KHW Regiment Apple-Red-ET was the winning 125,000 pound cow class winner and followed her clone in the reserve spot. Honorable Mention Senior Champion to Ms Candy Apple-Red-ET for Frank and Carol Borba and Frank and Diane Borba of California.

Serving as official judge was Michael Health of Maryland, assisted by Mike Berry of Oregon. They placed 250 entries over the two-day show. Premier Breeder was awarded to Milksource Genetics of Wisconsin. Premier Exhibitor went to Westcoast Holsteins of Canada.

In the Junior Show
In the Junior Show, Milksource LD Teagin-Red-ET, owned by Jordan Elmore and Kadyn Gibson of Kentucky, was awarded Junior Champion. Reserve went to Krull Larson Dirty Girl-Red, owned by Cassy, Bryce and Carley Krull of Wisconsin.

Intermediate Champion of the Junior Show was Liddlehome Roxbury-Red-ET, owned by Jennifer King of New York. Reserve was awarded to Criter-Ridge Reba-Red-ET, owned by Crystal, Jordan, Josh, Jake, Connor and Lauren Siemers of Wisconsin.

Senior Champion and Grand Champion of the Junior Show went to Cleland Advent Korie-Red-ET, owned by the Stransky boys, and Ryan Lauber of Minnesota. Reserve Senior and Grand Champion was awarded to Krull Advent Smiley-Red-ET, owned by Carley Krull of Wisconsin.
