A Canadian aged cow was named Grand Champion of the International Holstein show.

Grand Champion of the International Holstein Show at 2014 World Dairy ExpoFor the second time in three years, RF Goldwyn Hailey was chosen as the best of the best at the International Holstein Show. Judge Paul Trapp of Taylor, Wis., and his associate Pat Conroy of Angola, Ind., named the six-year-old cow the Grand Champion Holstein. She was also selected as Grand Champion at the 2012 World Dairy Expo.

Judge Trapp called Hailey "a tremendous dairy cow who is extremely mobile on her legs… a tremendously well-balanced, lovely dairy cow." She was exhibited by Gen-Com Holstein Ltd., Notre-Dame-Du-Bon-Conseil, Quebec.

Reserve Grand Champion honors went to Lovhill Goldwyn Katrysha, exhibited by Jeff Butler of Chebanse, Ill. She was the winning five-year-old.

Intermediate Champion was Carwill Attic Marcy, a senior three-year-old also exhibited by Gen-Com Holstein Ltd. Reserve Champion went to Jacobs Atwood Vedette, owned by Ferme Jacobs, Cap-Sante, Quebec.

Junior Champion of the Holstein show was Comestar Larion Goldwyn-ET, exhibited by Jeffrey Jet Butler and Lightening Ridge Holsteins of Chebanse, Ill. Reserve Junior Champion was Ashview-TG Atwood Lilly-ET, owned by Ted, Molly and Tom Norling and Tony Galgowski of River Falls, Wis.

In the 2014 International Holstein Futurity, Arethusa Sanchez Dice-ET from Arethusa Farm LLC in Litchfield, Conn., was the winning cow. Jacobs Goldwyn Valana, exhibited by Ferme Jacobs, was the Champion Bred and Owned animal.

Ferme Jacobs also earned the Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor awards. The winning state herd was from Quebec, followed by Wisconsin and Maryland. And for the seventh consecutive year, Braedale Goldwyn was named the Premier Sire of the International Holstein Open Show.
