Hoard's Dairyman History



On January 23, 1885, William Dempster Hoard wrote his issue of a "journal devoted to dairy farming." Today the insert has grown to be the dairy industry's leading dairy publication, Hoard's Dairyman. The publication helps readers run their businesses more effectively, because Hoard's Dairyman operates a dairy farm themselves and writes about their experiences. The farm is home to the largest and longest continually registered Guernsey herd in the United States. The farm was recently expanded, and added Jerseys in late 2009.
