I placed this class of Brown Swiss cow C B D A. C has an advantage over B in her mammary system.C is much stronger in her fore udder attachment, and her front teats are placed more desirably beneath her fore quarters. C also has a more feminine head and is much longer and leaner through her neck. C also is wider through her rump structure when viewed from the rear. I do grant B shows less set to her hock and has more spring to her rib than C.
In the middle pair, B has a definite advantage in height and width of rear udder over D. B also shows more bloom to her udder and less quartering on the udder floor. B is more open in her rib structure, more angular over her topline, and cleaner through her hock. Furthermore, B is more desirable in her tail setting. However, D is tighter in her fore udder attachment and is longer from end to end.
Finally, D places over A due to her youthfulness of udder. D carries her udder much higher above the hock and is more balanced from fore to rear quarters. D is stronger in her fore udder attachment and her teats are more centrally placed on the udder floor. D also exhibits more overall frame, being much taller and longer from end to end. I admit A shows more height and width of rear udder, but lacks the quality of udder and the correctness of teat placement to place any higher in the class.
