Save the Dates for the 2018 Pennsylvania Forage Conferences! There will be two conferences taking place next year – one in Grantville and one in Indiana. Dr. Dan Undersander, Forage Specialist at the University of Wisconsin will deliver the keynote address. Undersander’s research objectives include determining factors affecting alfalfa plant health and survival; best management for harvested forage – big bale wrapping, fermentation of silage; optimum management practices for intensively grazed pastures considering forage, yield, quality, and effect on wildlife. More details will be forthcoming – keep an eye out on the PFGC website and in Lancaster Farming in the near future.
