Select Sire Power announces Mark Carpenter as the next general manager of the cooperative. After 43 years with Select Sire Power and seven years serving as the general manager, Norman Vincel will retire on April 1, 2018.

Carpenter is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and earned a master of business administration in management and finance from Marywood University. Previously, he was employed by Penn Foster as a senior marketing and operations analyst. In 2014, Carpenter was recognized as a “Top 20 Under 40” by the Pennsylvania Business Journal.

Since October 2006, Carpenter has served Select Sire Power as director of finance and chief financial officer, overseeing and managing the financial operations of the cooperative.

“Mark's diverse background and experiences will bring a fresh approach to Select Sire Power. These experiences combined with the knowledge Mark has gained within our cooperative will allow him to be an effective leader, innovator and champion for the success of Select Sire Power in serving its customer-owners,” says Vincel.

In addition to Carpenter’s financial responsibilities, he envisioned and managed the development of the Bulls-I electronic sales system. Development of this system has had far-reaching impact with several organizations throughout the Select Sires’ federation. The technology has revolutionized the resources available to Select Sires’ sales and service teams. Carpenter has also been instrumental in a company-wide branding initiative to promote the cooperative’s image and enhanced operations through process improvements that bridge tradition with innovation. Carpenter has been a leader for the Select Sire Power cooperative on a national level to increase value for its customer-owners and has represented the cooperative on a variety of Select Sires’ committees.

"I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to the Select Sire Power board of directors for the opportunity to serve our customer-owners and employees as general manager and chief executive," says Carpenter.

Carpenter and his wife Tiffany live in Factoryville, Pa. with their two daughters, Paige and Madeline.
