presented by John Lee, D.V.M., Pfizer Animal Health
Brought to you by Pfizer Animal Health and their Dairy Wellness program.

This webinar discusses the efficiencies in heifer reproduction, "Shrinking the freshening window for replacement heifers", led by veterinarian John Lee, D.V.M., Pfizer Animal Health. Lee shares his thoughts on the best metrics to use when evaluating a heifer reproduction program, getting heifers to the milking string more quickly and improving the dairy's bottom line.

"There is a sizable financial advantage for a heifer that calves for the first time at 23 months of age versus one that freshens at 25 or 26 months of age," Lee says. "That extra month or two beyond the recommended 24-month age at first calving can add around $60 in feed costs alone."
