Dana Brooks, Senior VP of Government Relations, Leaving Organization

Before joining NMPF last year, Hollay served as senior legislative assistant with Connecticut Congressman Joe Courtney, with responsibility for issues pertaining to agriculture, energy, environment, and labor. He was also the lead congressional staffer on the re-establishment of the Dairy Farmer Caucus on Capitol Hill.
NMPF also announced today the departure of Senior Vice President of Government Relations, Dana Brooks, who is leaving NMPF on October 11th. Brooks has accepted a position with Elanco, the animal health division of Eli Lilly and Company, directing the firm's federal government affairs office in Washington, DC.

During Brooks' tenure at NMPF, she helped focus attention in Congress on the importance to the nation's dairy farmers of enacting the Dairy Security Act as part of the Farm Bill, advanced efforts to address the economic crisis that affected dairy farmers in 2009, and highlighted the important role of dairy nutrition in children's diets through her work on the Child Nutrition reauthorization bill. She was also instrumental in ensuring that the mandatory, electronic reporting of dairy prices was signed into law in 2010.
