broadhead, a leading marketing agency in Minneapolis, has partnered with Second Harvest Heartland to deliver some holiday cheer to those in need. Using 12 foods that are in high demand among food shelves, broadhead created the "12 Foods of Giving" cookbook, which includes out-of-the-box recipes so that everyone can taste a new recipe this holiday season.

These aren't your average recipes (it's unlikely one would find "Pop Lock + Chocolate" in grandma's cookbook). Food shelf staples such as canned beans, mac and cheese and peanut butter may not seem like exciting ingredients, but these recipes empower anyone to easily turn them into delicious meals. Minnesotans are encouraged to share their own recipes on Facebook and Twitter with #12FoodsofGiving. The recipe books will be donated to Second Harvest Heartland, which distributes food to more than 1,000 partner programs in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
