CowManager®, the revolutionary ear sensor system that provides information about fertility, health, transition and nutrition, is pleased to introduce new technology that will help dairy producers work more efficiently and effectively. The company is revealing the next generation of cow monitoring at World Dairy Expo, including the following innovations:
Lifetime Monitoring from Calf to Cow: With lifetime-lasting ear sensors, CowManager makes it easier for producers to track their herd throughout each life phase. From catching a disease early in a preweaned calf to detecting a heifer’s first heat and identifying at-risk cows in their transition period, and much more, CowManager helps producers maximize herd performance. By combining ear temperature and artificial intelligence with ever-evolving algorithms, producers can receive accurate and actionable insights to better manage their herds. The company’s new durable sensor comes with a lifetime warranty and a lightweight, smaller design compared with previous versions.
Youngstock Monitor: Producers can track calves’ crucial development periods and improve calf health and welfare with the new Youngstock Monitor. Lightweight ear sensors continuously monitor calf behavior, offering timely alerts for early disease detection and leading to quicker interventions, lower treatment intensity and a reduced reliance on antibiotics. Effective calf health management leads to increased future milk production and a healthier, more productive herd. This new feature earned a Silver Medal Innovation Award at EuroTier 2024.
Sort my Cow: A new cow-friendly sort gate pairs ear sensor monitoring with smart sorting technology to increase labor efficiency, shorten lock-up times and improve cow welfare. It works by receiving alerts from CowManager ear sensors, allowing producers to automatically or manually divert cows that need attention, all while maintaining smooth cow flow. Its double ID system ensures fast, accurate sorting, while the pneumatic-free design features minimal noise during operation, reducing cow stress. Made in the USA, the stainless-steel design is built to last in extreme temperatures and tough conditions.
CowManager App: With this new app, CowManager becomes fully responsive and automatically adjusts to any mobile screen, making it easier to read and navigate. The app includes enhanced functionalities, including the CowManager dashboard, insemination window, and calf health monitoring, plus it allows producers to enter events and genomic data.
“We’re excited to introduce these new innovations that will help producers work more efficiently and effectively,” says Gerard Griffioen, CowManager founder. “A producer’s success depends on what’s happening on their farm today, and what’s coming in the future. We strive to continually inspire better monitoring methods with our data-driven approach and technological expertise. At CowManager, we believe a successful dairy producer is a prepared producer. That’s why we ensure that they are always one step ahead.”
