Connecterra’s mission is to train an Artificial Intelligence (AI) to learn how to farm, to empower farmers of all sizes to increase the productivity of their farms, while reducing the impact of farming on the planet. In 2017, Connecterra launched IDA, the first digital assistant for dairy farmers, based on sensor technology, cloud computing and machine learning. IDA translates unique data on cow behavior into accurate and actionable insights on fertility, health, and operational issues. The insights are shown to the farmer in a user-friendly mobile app. IDA is the only system on the market that integrates with farm management systems to create a unique set of data to get the most value out of farm data. The accurate insights from IDA help farmers to reduce dependence on tail painting and synchronization protocols and reduce labor time and antibiotic use, saving thousands of dollars each year. Farming with IDA means having an effective tool to make better decisions and to make farms future-proof, more sustainable and more efficient. Connecterra is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and operates in 16 countries, including the US and Canada.
