The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) recently announced that Krone will be presented a coveted 2015 AE50 award for the new EasyCollect 603 corn head.
Companies from around the world submit entries to the annual AE50 competition and up to 50 of the best products are selected by a panel of international engineering experts. The award-winning products are those ranked highest in innovation, significant engineering advancement and impact on the market served.
The design of the Krone EasyCollect 603 corn head has been deemed one of the year's most innovative designs in engineering products in the agriculture industry.

Designed to be mounted on the Krone BiG X self-propelled forage harvester, the EasyCollect 603 corn head can harvest eight rows of corn at a 20 foot working width and then fold into three layers for narrow transport.
Designed with the lower head count dairy and cattle operations in mind, the smaller working width is ideally suited for those operations that harvest their own silage.
At the touch of a button the head tri-folds to a low transport height and a narrow 7' 10" transport width. When driving down the road in transport this feature improves visibility and results in safer road travel.
The EasyCollect 603 utilizes the well-proven and award-winning Krone Collector. Its modular, endless collector design leads to a substantial reduction in the number of components and drive systems, thus reducing weight and power requirements.
The Krone Collector works on the following principle: It feeds the crop to the middle of the machine without the crop ever changing direction, passing smoothly through the header and into the machine a system that is dependable operation in all conditions, even down corn.
Brent Raines, Krone Territory TProduct Manager, explains, "Presenting the stems of the corn perpendicular to the chopping assembly is an important step to producing silage with exceptional chop quality. Testing and operator experience are evidence that the Krone EasyCollect feeding principle improves the quality of chop. As an added convenience, the EasyCollect 603 is equipped with tungsten carbide coated, self-sharpening knives."
The EasyCollect 603 corn head will be featured in the January/February 2015 special AE50 issue of ASABE's magazine Resource: Engineering & Technology for a Sustainable World. The formal presentation of the AE50 Awards will occur at ASABE's annual Agricultural Equipment Technology Conference (AETC) in Louisville, KY on Tuesday, February 10, 2015.
