With a long tradition in developing innovative cleaning solutions, DeLaval has introduced a new chlorinated alkaline detergent featuring superior hygienic results achieved at much lower temperatures.

Reduced Temperature Detergent (RTD) – containing patent protected technology of DeLaval – helps customers combat water temperature issues while reducing their energy use. RTD's unique dispersion technology gives the same CIP (clean in place) results at 45°C as it would if the water temperature was 75°C With less energy needed to heat the water for cleaning milking systems and bulk tanks, some customers may see their power consumption reduced by as much as 50 percent.

RTD imageThe smart technology used in RTD not only helps reduce a dairy farm's environmental impact, but also safeguards its milk quality which allows the producer to qualify for milk premiums. Furthermore, using lower water temperatures to sanitize milking system components ensures the optimal performance of, for instance, rubber parts, and may extend their life time.

"Producers that are having trouble maintaining a consistent supply of hot water, which is critical to effectively clean their equipment, should consider RTD," said Tim Nicolaï, Vice President, Business Area Aftermarket & Services, at DeLaval. "RTD not only offers customers peace of mind, but also helps them get top dollar for their milk while being more eco-friendly."

Sustainable Dairy Farming
Sustainable Dairy Farming is a DeLaval initiative to reduce the environmental footprint on dairy farms while improving milk production, profitability and animal welfare. RTD supports this effort with its unique technology, allowing customers to do more with less.

DeLaval detergents
DeLaval offers a complete range of detergents and sanitizers for the safe and reliable cleaning of milking systems and bulk tanks. Detergents and sanitizers help to remove the fat, minerals, proteins and bacteria present in milk residue which can remain in the system after a completed milking cycle. Over time, built-up residue can compromise milk quality.
