Saputo has renewed its long-standing partnership with Ronald McDonald House Canada, committing $2.25 million over five years – nearly double its previous pledge!

A lifeline for families in crisis

Ronald McDonald House Canada provides a vital service: a home-away-from-home for out-of-town families with children receiving medical treatment. With 16 Ronald McDonald House programs and 20 Ronald McDonald Family Room programs across the country, the organization supports families from over 2,600 communities, offering them a place to stay, warm meals to share, and a sense of comfort just steps from the hospital.

In 2024 alone, Ronald McDonald House Canada supported more than 28,900 families, saving them an estimated $66.5 million in out-of-pocket expenses. But despite serving more families year over year, the heartbreaking reality remains that the organization is unable to support up to 4 out of 5 families who need a Ronald McDonald House program due lack of space or no available program location.

    Bringing good to the table

Saputo’s renewed commitment will help Ronald McDonald House Canada expand its reach and serve more families across the country. It also brings more nourishing products to the table and creates new opportunities for Saputo employees to get involved through volunteering activities and community engagement.

“As someone who has seen firsthand the difference Ronald McDonald House Canada makes for families in their most difficult moments, I’m incredibly proud that Saputo is deepening its support,” said Jim Fennell, Vice-President, Foodservice & Convenience at Saputo and a long-time member of the Board of Directors of Ronald McDonald House Toronto. “By expanding access and resources, we’re helping bring comfort and stability to more families across the country.”

“Ronald McDonald House Canada is deeply grateful to Saputo – a Founding Partner – for continuing to step up for families in communities coast to coast, when it matters most,” said Kate Horton, President and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Canada. “Their long-standing partnership and renewed commitment ensure more families have access to essential support, so they can focus on caring for their sick child."

The renewed partnership builds on Saputo’s decades-long relationship with McDonald’s Canada, reflecting a shared commitment to showing up for families that goes beyond the scope of business.
