Cyndee Smiley, formerly division marketing manager for Region 4 combines and front-end equipment, has been named media relations and communications manager for John Deere Ag & Turf Division for the U.S. and Canada. Smiley replaces Beverly Flores, who recently was named training and events manager for the U.S. and Canada for John Deere.

Most recently, Smiley was responsible for many key go-to-market functions for John Deere’s new S700 Series Combines and front-end equipment, including collaborating with tactical marketing, advertising and communications, pricing, training and shows and events. Previously, she was a territory manager for John Deere in southwest Iowa; manager of retail showroom development as part of Deere’s Ag & Turf dealer development group; and has held various product marketing roles at Deere’s Des Moines Works and Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG).

Smiley has a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Systems Management from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Iowa.

In her new role, effective February 1, Smiley will be responsible for all media relations and related communications activities, as well as social media, special events and sponsorships for Deere’s North American Ag & Turf Division. In addition, she will handle external communications for ISG and publications including the Furrow, Homestead and Leader magazines and websites.
