Dairy, crop and vegetable farmers looking to enhance their use of cover crop mixes will see side-by-side trials of new options at the August 7-9, 2018 Empire Farm Days at Rodman Lott and Son Farms in Seneca Falls, NY.

The crop plots, sponsored by Rodman Lott and Son Farms, King's AgriSeeds, and Seedway, can be seen at anytime during the show. Seed representatives will lead a daily 10:30 am tour of the plots that include single species and seed blends, including heat stress-tolerant summer annuals, combinations for dealing with soil compaction and for adding organic matter, and mono crop and blend options for use after small grain or vegetable crops.

With all the recent attention to applying farm practices that protect native and commercial bee colonies, the plots at Empire Farm Days include mixes for attracting pollinators and butterflies.

Empire Farm Days visitors will also see crops that act as a natural biofumigant to decrease unwanted nematode populations.

Empire Farm Days is the largest outdoor agricultural trade show in the Northeastern U.S. Admission is free; parking is $10 per vehicle. Find more information, daily schedules, and photos at www.empirefarmdays.com and on Facebook and Instagram.
