Michigan native and national hockey league (NHL) champion, Justin Abdelkader, has partnered with Milk Means More, (United Dairy Industry of Michigan). As an athlete and proud new dad, Justin knows the importance of good nutrition to fuel his star performance and to help all kids grow and thrive.

“When I train and compete, I expend a lot of energy on the ice and in the weight room and I need something to help recover properly and better prepare me for my next workout,” say Justin. “With the right balance of protein and carbohydrate to repair and refuel, chocolate milk has scientifically proven results. But it is part of my plan because it is delicious.”

Abdelkader is partnering with Milk Means More to promote dairy and good nutrition to schools and student-athletes throughout Michigan. “Everyone knows my passion is reading, and kids cannot learn without good nutrition. Partnering these two messages just makes sense.”

“We are proud to work with an athlete of Justin’s caliber in the promotion of Michigan dairy,” says Sharon Toth, Executive Director of UDIM. “He shares the values of our dairy values of working hard, staying in school, eating right and the importance of family.”

Milk Means More shares the message about the benefits of milk with local community organizations, schools and hockey fans at the USA Hockey Arena Milk and Cookies Night in Plymouth Township.
