The associate judges have been selected for The 72nd All American Jersey Shows, sponsored by the American Jersey Cattle Association (AJCA) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

The largest exhibition of Registered Jersey™ cattle in the world, the three shows of The All American, will be held November 8-11, 2024, in conjunction with the North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE) in Louisville, Ky.

Brad Gavenlock of Victoria, Australia, will serve as the associate judge with Mike Berry, Powell Butte, Ore., for The All American Jersey Show on Sunday and Monday, November 10-11. He and his wife, Jessica, and their three girls run and operate Cherrylock Cattle Co. located in Victoria Australia, where they board and manage cattle for clients based all over the world. They manage regular embryo transfer and in-vitro fertilization programs for clients on-farm. In addition, they also manage and prepare cattle for shows and sales and coordinate photo days on farm.

Brad has judged throughout Australia and New Zealand (NZ), including the International Dairy Week (IDW) Youth Show, IDW National Illawarra Show, Sydney Royal All Breed Heifer Show and the Jerseys at NZ Dairy event. He has served as the overjudge for Youth Challenge Competitions at Sydney Royal, Brisbane Royal, and at IDW. Brad has also assisted as an overjudge for the National Holstein and Jersey judging panels in New South Wales, Australia. He has worked as a fitter throughout Australia, New Zealand, and North America. Brad currently works for Agri-Gene as their dairy products manager with a Focus and passion for dairy genetics and sire section to add to the genetic program across all breeds. The family has owned or managed 25 Sydney Royal champions, 28 IDW champions and have exhibited at both World Dairy Expo and The All American Jersey Show.

Joining judge Ron Mosser, Geneva, Ind., in the ring for the 71st National Jersey Jug Futurity on November 10, is Max Bollenbacher of Argos, Ind.

Max, his wife Carrie Jo, sons Drew, and Lane, daughters Sophia and Ellie, along with his in-laws, Mike and Jan Heckaman own and operate Bolle-Acres Jersey Farm. They milk 200 Registered Jerseys along with 500 Holsteins in the Argos Holstein Farms herd. Max has had numerous bred and owned All American and Reserve All Americans, including two-time National Grand Champion Bolle-Acres MJ Willie May and Reserve Intermediate Champion Bolle-Acres Lester TB Sarah. In 2023, Bolle-Acres Reviresco Tyra was named All American Aged Cow and Bolle-Acres Kid Rock Maple was the Junior All American and Reserve All American Winter Calf. Bolle-Acres has been Premier Breeder and Exhibitor at the Indiana State Fair 12 times. Max has judged in three states and is looking forward to taking the ring with his mentor Mr. Ron Mosser.

Kaleb Kruse, Dyersville, Iowa, will join judge Trent Kilgus, Fairbury, Ill., in the ring for The All American Junior Jersey Show on Friday, November 8. Kaleb is part owner in KCCK Genetics with his two younger brothers, Cole and Carter. The trio raises, boards, and show all seven dairy breeds at local, state and national levels.

He graduated from Kaskaskia College with four associate degrees of applied sciences before transferring to the University Minnesota where he graduated in 2020 with an animal science degree. He was active in dairy judging at both Kaskaskia and the University of Minnesota. He has judged the 2020 National Ayrshire Show and the 2021 National Junior Ayrshire Show in Louisville, the 2022 Midwest National Ayrshire Show, the Midwest Regional Milking Shorthorn Show and the National Junior Guernsey Show.

Transfer Date for Junior Members Ownership for All American Junior Show

A reminder to all youth showing at The All American Junior Jersey Show. All Registered Jerseys must be in the youth’s name by August 1, 2024, to be eligible to show in the junior show in Louisville.

The exhibitor must be listed as Recorded Owner on the registration certificate, either (1) as the sole owner or (2) by his/her name in joint ownership. If the joint ownership includes more than one person meeting the eligibility requirements of Rule 1 (above), one of them must be declared as the exhibitor during check-in. Animals must be registered and/or transferred to meet one of the above ownership requirements on or before August 1, 2024. The recording date is the postmark date and will be considered the date of registration and/or transfer. Contact Herd Services at the AJCA with any questions.

2024 Schedule for the All American Jersey Shows & Sales

The Jersey weekend will begin on Friday November 8, 2024, with the All American Junior Jersey Show. The show will begin with junior showmanship at 7:30 a.m. The Jersey heifers will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the cow show starting at approximately 1:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the show, the Supreme Champions of the NAILE Junior Dairy Shows will be selected.

On Saturday, November 9, the Jersey Youth Awards Ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m., and recognize approximately four dozen youth award winners. At 11:30 a.m. will be the “Give Your Best 60 Second Intro” public speaking contest for youth. At 1:00 p.m. the Pot O’Gold Sale will be held, followed by the All American pre-sale social at 2:30 p.m. The All American Jersey Sale will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the West Wing.

The All American Jersey Show will be split over Sunday and Monday. The heifers will show at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 10. The National Jersey Jug Futurity will follow the show at 2:00 p.m.

On Monday morning, November 11, the Jersey cows will take to the green shavings at 7:30 a.m. At the conclusion of the cow show, Supreme Champion of the NAILE Dairy shows will be crowned.
