The 2025 Dairy Cattle Welfare Symposium will bring together professionals from across the dairy industry for a three-day event focused on advancing the health, welfare, and productivity of dairy cattle. Hosted at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel in Columbus, OH from May 21-23, 2025. This year’s symposium promises an engaging lineup of speakers, workshops, and networking opportunities aimed at addressing the evolving challenges and innovations in enhancing dairy cattle welfare.

Organized by the Dairy Cattle Welfare Council (DCWC) and supported by leading agricultural institutions and industry partners, the symposium serves as a collaborative platform for veterinarians, dairy producers, animal scientists, and students to exchange knowledge and best practices for improving dairy cattle welfare on farms of all sizes.

Highlights of the 2025 Symposium include:

  • Sessions on topics such as prevention of mastitis, lameness, and BRD, and using technologies to improve cattle welfare
  • Producer panels sharing real-world insights of dealing with avian influenza H5N1, disease prevention for calves and using a training module for dairy farm personnel
  • A student poster competition showcasing the latest research from emerging leaders in the field
  • Poster and networking reception with opportunities for cross-sector collaboration

“The Dairy Cattle Welfare Symposium is a unique opportunity to connect science with on-farm application,” said Dr. Ricardo Chebel, President, DCWC. “By bringing together thought leaders and practitioners, we’re creating a space for meaningful dialogue and progress in dairy cattle care.”

Early bird registration closes April 29, 2025, and space is limited.
