Stall Fillers... Improve Cow Comfort By Keeping Stalls Full of Sand
As the end of the year is approaching, you may be looking for a way to bed your freestalls quickly, easily and evenly. The McLanahan Millennium Stall Filler distributes sand into freestalls up to 15 feet away from the machine. This means you can "shoot through" and rebed head-to-head freestalls from one alley. Stall Fillers can be used to quickly to top-dress stalls or to fill stalls as part of a weekly bedding program. More sand in stalls equals more cow comfort! Millennium Stall Fillers are available as Trailer or Truck-mount units. If maximizing maneuverability is what you are after, the Truck-mounted Millennium Stall Filler is for you! Truck-mounted units are easy to back in and out of the barn, and make it possible to transport large loads of sand longer distances. All hydraulics are safely located outside of the truck cab and are activated by electric over hydraulic controls. Front and rear discharge units are available. Sand Solutions Conference Review McLanahan Corporation's Agricultural Division hosted their annual Sand Solutions Conference this past November. This year's conference, Designing Successful Sand Facilities, was held as two one-day conferences instead of the normal two-day event. The first conference was held in Geneseo, NY. It included presentations by industry experts Dr. Bill Bickert and Curt Gooch, as well as McLanahan Corporation's Andrew Wedel and Renee Schrift. Those attending the New York conference took system tours at two different local sites. Their second stop was Dairy Knoll Farm in Geneseo, NY, where the group saw a Closed-Loop SMS System. The second conference was held in Lansing MI where there were talks given by Bickert, Wedel and Schrift, who were joined by Dr. Marcelo Oberto, D.M.V, Veterinarian-Nutritionist fom INTER-Ag. The group observed a CSMS System at Swiss Lane Dairy in Mont Alto, MI and a Closed-Loop SMS System at Nobis Dairy Farm in St. Johns, MI.
