All West/Select Sires is pleased to announce the promotion of J.R. Fisher to sales representative in Tillamook/Willamette Valley, Oregon and SW Washington. He will also be working with SMS evaluator Lisa Barkley and technician Dave Porter. J.R. previously worked for the company as a technician specialist in the Sunnyside/Yakima Valley area of eastern Washington.

A native of Sulphur Springs, Texas, J.R. brings a vast amount of experience to the team. Growing up on a 150-cow registered dairy, he was not only involved in showing cattle, but earned a spot on the Texas State 4-H judging team that competed at World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin. A graduate of Texas A&M, he spent time in Australia with the Young Cooperators program at DFA, worked for Cargill Animal Nutrition, and also completed the Large Dairy Herdsman program at Utah State University.

"J.R.'s extensive work with cattle all over the world has built a solid foundation of experience for his skills at All West," said Regional Sales Manager Karl Krangnes. "He will be a valuable resource for our customers in Tillamook who not only want to invest in the Select Sires program, but also want a representative who is willing to work side by side with them and improve profitability."

J.R. terms himself as a modern-day explorer, and he and his wife, Vanessa, will make their home in Tillamook. They enjoy traveling, and raising Catahoula Leopards (a type of dog from Louisiana). His passion for studying genetics and breeding runs deep and his new position is just a natural extension of his personality. "I'm really looking forward to taking on this new role with All West. It's such a progressive area that I'm excited to see what's working for people there and how I can help improve their bottom line. My job is more than just selling semen. I want to work with people who love this industry as much as I do."
