Select Sires logoSelect Sires has dedicated and renamed its research and technology center the Marshall Technology Center, in honor of long-time Vice President of Quality Control and Research, Clif Marshall.

Marshall retired in late 2012 after over 44 years of service at Select Sires. His commitment to semen quality and integrity has been the driving force behind Select Sires' fertility advantage. Marshall managed a crew of laboratory technicians and researchers that once produced 500,000 units of semen annually to over 16 million units produced in 2012. Marshall's impact on Select Sires is evident by the team of specialists he recruited and trained to be an industry leading research and quality control team. Seven people from his team received advanced degrees under Marshall's tenure.

Select Sires building"Marshall's excellence in developing industry-leading semen quality research has been utilized by the entire industry to measure and improve semen fertility," explains David Thorbahn, Select Sires president and C.E.O. "His leadership at Select Sires for the last 44 years has gained him the admiration of Select Sires' employees and customer-owners as well as the respect of researchers around the world. Marshall's work is a major reason that Select Sires has become the U.S. industry leader in semen fertility and market share. His focus has always been on helping dairy and beef producers by providing them with the highest quality semen possible. In 2010, he was recognized by the National Association of Animal Breeders as a recipient of their Pioneer Award."
