

Secretary Ross addressed the crowd, commenting on the rich history that the Blue Seal brand shares with the Vermont agricultural community. Ross presented Plant Manager, Jack Krizer with a letter from Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin, personally thanking the employees at the Richford mill and the company for the continued investment in Vermont agriculture. Ross commented, "Thanks to the hard work of your dedicated workforce and the support of your parent company, Blue Seal/KNG is both a valued employer and strong community presence. We're very proud of the contribution made by the Blue Seal/Kent mill in Richford".
Kent Nutrition Group's President, John Thorpe commented, "We're extremely proud of this mill and its employees in how it serves this community and all of New England with quality Blue Seal and Kent feeds." Business at the mill has increased significantly resulting in increased employment.
The Richford mill has been manufacturing Blue Seal feeds continually since 1941. It supplies bagged feeds to dealers throughout the eastern states, including as far west as Colorado, in addition to providing bulk feed to dairy farmers throughout Vermont.
