Producer Discovery Workshops and Tradeshow are Open to All Dairy Producers

Plans are well underway for FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative's third annual meeting being held on February 13-14 at the Stoney Creek Inn & Convention Center in Onalaska, Wis. ‘Partnering to Build a Better Industry' is the focus of this year's annual meeting, as discussions will concentrate on enhancing partnerships between cooperative members and industry organizations.

Attendees will have the chance to participate in the cooperative's Producer Discovery Workshops, being held on Friday afternoon. Sandy Stuttgen, an Agriculture Educator from UW-Extension Taylor County, will speak at 1 p.m. on ‘Protecting your Assets' from a dairy quality assurance perspective; Alan Levitt, Vice-President of the U.S. Dairy Export Council, will discuss ‘Exports and the World Stage' at his 2:15 p.m. workshop session about what U.S. dairy farmers could expect from a dynamic and global dairy marketplace; and at 3:30 p.m. Carol Magurany-Brotski, an Agricultural Safety Consultant from the National Farm Medicine Center, will share a fresh perspective about the hidden risks on our dairy farms in her workshop, ‘Farming and Things Around Us.'

All dairy farmers are encouraged to attend these educational workshops. If possible, contact Julie at 608-244-3373 to reserve a seat.

The annual meeting's tradeshow will also be taking place in between the Producer Discovery Workshops on Friday afternoon, allowing members and guest dairy producers the opportunity to connect with these meeting sponsors and ask questions on their products and services. The cooperative's silent auction held every year will also be on display and available for bids. All funds raised go towards funding youth education opportunities, including dairy camp registrations and scholarships.
