The Jersey Revolution continues as six new proven Jersey sires join the Select Sires lineup, including five that debut in the breed's top 10 for Jersey Performance Index (JPI).
Six members of the Select Sires lineup are top-10 GJPI sires: 523JE927 Wilsonview Jevon MAGNUM-ET (+211), 7JE1150 Sunset Canyon DIGNITARY-ET (+205), 7JE1151 Buttercrest GALVANIZE (+190), 7JE1184 Glynn Headline NEWS-ET (+188), 7JE1190 BW FASTRACK-ET (+188) and 7JE1149 Sunset Canyon DIMENSION-ET (+179). MAGNUM and 7JE1067 GR Oomsdale Tbone GOLDA-ET continue to be two of the top sires for Combined Fat and Protein (CFP) at +119 and +115, respectively.
7JE1038 All Lynns Louie VALENTINO-ET continues to lead the way for Type at +2.1 and is joined by new graduates, 7JE1169 Heartland Merchant TOPEKA-ET (+1.8) and GALVANIZE (+1.7) in the top five.
"7JE" sires maintain their position as fertility frontrunners with 7JE1036 Avon Road Impuls PAT (+4.5 Sire Conception Rate), 7JE962 Buttercrest SUCCESS-ET (+4.1 SCR), DIGNITARY (+4.0 SCR), 7JE859 Chasin-Rainbows Act RILEY-ET (+3.6 SCR) and TOPEKA (+3.2 SCR) in the breed's top 10.
RILEY is the top sire in the breed for Daughter Pregnancy Rate (DPR) at +3.6 while 7JE1082 GR HEARTland Gan Ted-1736-ET is a top-five sire for Somatic Cell Score (SCS) at 2.80. 7JE1088 Chilli Action COLTON-ET is the No. 4 sire for Jersey Udder Index (JUI) at +25.86.
Six familiar Jersey sires join the proven lineup
DIMENSION is the No. 9 sire in the breed for GJPI at +179. A FeedPRO® and HealthMark sire, DIMENSION is an extreme components specialist (+0.28% Fat, +0.16% Protein, +53 Fat) and transmits outstanding Cheese Merit (CM$) (+485) and can improve SCS (2.84). With a Sire Conception Rate (SCR) of +2.5 and a Superior Settler designation, he is a proven conception sire that improves udders (+7.75 Jersey Udder Index).
DIMENSION's full brother DIGNITARY, debuts as the breed's No. 3 GJPI sire. He is also a leading sire for components yields (+41P, +68F, +109CFP), Net Merit (NM$) (+511) and CM$ (+537). DIGNITARY earns the FeedPRO and HealthMark designations and is a Superior Settler with an SCR of +4.0.
GALVANIZE is the first VALENTINO son to join the Select Sires proven lineup. Much like his father, he transmits excellent production (+1,197 Milk) and Type (+1.7).
