Parent First, Farmer Second' radio ads win national honors
The National Farm Medicine Center and agency broadhead received the 2013 Plambeck Award, Best Series, for their campaign, "You're a Parent First, Farmer Second." The announcement was made Nov. 14 at the National Association of Farm Broadcasters' (NAFB) meeting in Kansas City.
The goal of the, "Parent First, Farmer Second," radio series is to demonstrate the passion and hard work that goes into being a farmer, but ultimately reminds others that the most important job label is being a parent. The public service ads are part of the Cultivate Safety project and can be heard at www.cultivatesafety.org. The ads encourage farmers to put their children's' safety first.
To request files of the ads on flash drive (at no cost), contact the National Children's Center for Rural and Agricultural Health and Safety, part of the National Farm Medicine Center, nccrahs@mcrf.mfldclin.edu, or 1-800-662-6900.
The Plambeck Awards for Creative Excellence are given for the best single radio commercial and the best radio commercial series that run on NAFB stations, with the goal of promoting and recognizing commercials that inform, influence and motivate the target audience.
