WerryHolstein Canada is pleased to welcome a National Director to the Board of Directors: Dennis Werry of Oshawa, Ont. will serve as Director for Northern & Central Ontario. The position was vacant as a result of the upcoming retirement of the current National Director in that electoral district, President John Buckley. Dennis has been elected as the successful candidate by the membership in that district. He will begin his mandate following the Holstein Canada Annual General Meeting to be held in Banff, Alta. on April 23, 2016.

Dennis Werry milks 80 cows under the Loa-De-Mede prefix and farms 550 acres just north of Oshawa, Ont. The 4th generation operation is farmed in partnership with his wife Cindy, son John and daughter-in-law Heather, and recently the herd was moved into a new GEA robotic compost pack barn. Dennis is a Past President of the Ontario Holstein Branch; a past Director on the Ontario Holstein Branch Board of Directors from 2002-2010; and has been an Ontario Summer Show Committee Member since the show's conception. Dennis believes one of Holstein Canada's first responsibilities is to maintain communication between the Association and its provincial Branches, and in turn, the member producers across the country. He is looking forward to sharing his perspective as a producer operating with robots; insight that will be increasingly important as our industry continues to change quickly, and more producers install robotic equipment in their operations.

Dennis Werry can be contacted at werrydennis@gmail.com. Please join Holstein Canada in welcoming Dennis to the Board of Directors.
