PDPW logoThe Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW), the Wisconsin Counties Association and the Wisconsin Towns Association are pleased to bring dairymen and their community together to learn from one another and create a stronger Wisconsin. The February events include two separate opportunities to attend an Agricultural Community Engagement® (ACE) Regional Meeting, Feb. 16 and 17. The first, Tuesday, February 16, will be held at the Holiday Inn Eau Claire South in Eau Claire, Wis. and the other at the Kalahari Resort on Wednesday, February 17 in the Wisconsin Dells, Wis.

These meetings are a must-attend and offer a look inside Wisconsin Agriculture and its impact on the local community. Participants will hear directly from Ben Brancel, Secretary of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection on the current state and future of Wisconsin Agriculture and Cathy Stepp, Director of the Department of Natural Resources, on the future of Environmental Regulations.

Also on the agenda for the day is a farmer panel discussion on technologies and techniques for manure and nutrient movement. This panel, moderated by Dennis Frame, Timber Ridge Consulting, will feature Kenn Buelow, of Holsum Dairy, Hilbert, Wis., Jeff Endres of Endres Berryridge Farm, Waunakee, Wis, and Joe Bragger of Bragger Family Dairy, Independence, Wis. These individuals will share their nutrient management philosophies with participants.

Finally, Senator Jerry Petrowski, co-author of the Implements of Husbandry Bill, and Craig Thompson, Executive Director, Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin, will talk through the best practices for local government and farming community to work together to solve transportation short comings.

This collaborative educational event connects the community with state agricultural leaders and industry peers. Attendees can choose the day and location that best fit their schedules and are encouraged to bring questions for presenters. Registration is due by Monday, February 8, 2016 to the Wisconsin Towns Association. To learn more about the February ACE Regional Meetings, visit www.pdpw.org or contact PDPW at 1-800-947-7379.
