Expanding the lineup of Bobcat augers, these units are designed with a high-torque gearbox, allowing them to deliver more power for difficult installations at deeper digging depths and for working in tough conditions such as rock, clay, coral and frost. Greater torque can be especially beneficial to excavating, grading and site development contractors, as well as beef cattle producers and landscape professionals installing fence, anchors and screw pylons.

Increased digging performance
With the additional torque that a planetary drive delivers, it can dig deep holes more efficiently to outperform a direct drive auger in tough applications. Featuring an efficient displacement design, the 30PH and 50PH augers have smaller drive housings - less than 12 inches long. This smaller housing allows it to follow the bit all the way into the hole to achieve deeper depths. The two-piece shaft design ensures maximum side load ratings without increasing the load on bearings, protecting productivity and uptime.
The longer heavy-duty and rock bits also contribute to deeper holes. At 61.5 inches long, these bits are at least 12 inches longer than current Bobcat auger bits. The new PH auger also has a longer and stronger 2.5-inch hex output shaft to handle the increased torque output.
Versatile mounting system
The 35PH and 50PH planetary augers are designed with a versatile mounting system that helps Bobcat operators switch the auger between loaders and excavators. Bobcat skid-steer loaders, compact track loaders and all-wheel steer loaders can accept the planetary augers with the Bob-Tach attachment mounting system. The planetary augers can be fitted to the compact excavator mounting frame using the Bobcat X-Change mounting system.
There are several Bobcat compact loaders and compact excavators approved to accept the planetary augers. Please refer to this link for approved carrier models.
