NAAB



The National Association of Animal Breeders (NAAB) will hold its Annual Convention and Biennial Technical Conference on October 12-14, 2016 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The host hotel will be the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center located just across from the airport.

The NAAB 70th Annual Business meeting will be held Wednesday afternoon, October 12th, and include a report from the Chairman of the Board, Chuck Sattler, Select Sires, Inc.; a report on Certified Semen Services will be given by CSS Chairman, Dr. Charles Brown, Accelerated Genetics; and NAAB President, Dr. Gordon A. Doak, will also address the delegates. Chairman of the Nominating Committee, Dr. Mike Cowan, Genetic Visions - ST, will report on candidates for the NAAB Board of Directors, and NAAB voting delegates will elect three directors. Jesus Martinez, ABS Global and Joel Groskreutz, Accelerated Genetics are both incumbents and eligible for re-election. Les Hutchens, Reproduction Enterprises, has completed his second three year term and is ineligible for re-election. Delegates will also review the finances of the Association, and act on any resolutions brought before the Convention.

Back again, is the Laboratory/Semen Quality Workshop to be held on Wednesday afternoon, October 12, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

The 26th Technical Conference on Artificial Insemination and Reproduction will begin Thursday morning, October 13. This will feature speakers and topics in the field of artificial insemination, reproduction science and genetics. It will include academic researchers as well as industry technical personnel involved in semen production, sire management, and sire health. They will discuss and review scientific developments and important technical issues relevant to the AI industry. In addition, student poster sessions will be included throughout the day.

Industry specific vendors will exhibit their products and be available for conversation throughout the three days.

A special Awards Luncheon, Thursday, October 13, will feature this year's recipients of the NAAB Research Award, Distinguished Service Award, Member Association Director Award and the Pioneer Award. Technicians who have serviced over 100,000 cows, as well as industry sales people who have sold over 500,000 units of semen, will be recognized and presented with a plaque.

Following the Awards Luncheon, the Technical Conference will continue with Breakout Sessions for lab and barn personnel. The next day, Friday, October 14, the Technical Conference will resume at 8:00 a.m. and include several other speakers with current topics of interest.
